I’m really on the fence about selling this one. I enjoy it, but don’t play it often.
This is a 1965, but is made in the latter half of the year. 1965 was a transition year for these basses. These made in the latter half have a slightly slimmer neck. The nut width measures 1 5/8” and has a rounded profile. The latter half ones also have chrome hardware instead of nickel.
Condition wise, this bass is on solid shape. No breaks or cracks. There is some checking all over the bass, and a couple paint chips around the forearm contours.
Neck is straight and truss road operates correctly. Frets has plenty of life left. I have GHS pressurewounds currently on it with medium action. The bridge foam mute works as it should.
Electronics are all original and work perfectly.
Includes a modern Gibson SG/EB3 bass case.
