Late 1950s Gretsch Round Badge Snare drum model 4102 Blue / Silver trim tone lacquer finish 14" x 5.5"
8 lug drum. All hardware is original and in great working condition. Heavy pitting on the chrome. Some flaking of the original lacquer finish as seen in photos. Original throw off, snare wires, even the rope is the original. I did put new heads on it after carefully disassembling it and cleaning it thoroughly. Throw off has been thoroughly cleaned and lubricated and it works pretty well. Not as smooth as a brand new piece of hardware, but its definitely not going to let you down or delay you when you are trying to use it while playing.
Snare SOUNDS great. Hate to sell it. Killer player grade snare. If someone replaced the hoops with a set without pitting in the chrome, it would put this instrument on up into the "collector" grade. Check photos.
The paper label inside was re-glued at some point and is a little messy.
The finish appears Black and Gold in the photos, but the lacquer has just yellowed that way. When I pulled the hardware off, I should have taken some photos, but it is definitely Blue and Silver in the areas underneath the hardware where UV light has not yellowed the finish through the years.
