Here is a 2014 Suhr Classic T Antique in Two-Tone Sunburst finish. Includes a G&G hardshell case, along with the paperwork/build sheet and adjustment tools. 2014 is the first production year for this model, which makes this one a very early example. From the moment I picked this guitar up, I noticed a couple things that make it unique, and stand out from others I've played. First, it's very lightweight at just 7.3 lb. Most Suhr Classic S and T guitars I've played and/or owned have been right around 8 lb. This one feels exceptionally lightweight and well-balanced. The other thing that struck me was the aging. This one is more heavily-aged than others (more recent examples) that I've come across. It has lots of deep lacquer checking, with some light scuffs, nicks and dings, which all appear to be original Suhr aging. Newer Suhr Antique/aged guitars seem to have very little checking (which is also faint and shallow), and not much more than that. In my opinion, if you're interested in an aged guitar with nitro finish, this Classic T Antique fits the bill much better than newer ones that hardly seem aged at all. It really looks and feels well-loved. It has a beautiful roasted maple neck with stainless steel frets, which makes for a super-smooth playing experience. The pickups are strong in output while being very dynamic and musical, allowing for a ton of versatility, especially when you put your Vol and Ton controls to good use. This guitar is set up with '10s for comfy action and plays effortlessly. I've included photos of the build sheet which gives you a rundown of the specs, but please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Condition: This guitar is in fantastic condition, and everything functions as it should with no issues. The frets hardly show any visible use, and feel great to play on. The guitar overall seems to show very little (if any) actual play wear. There are very few early production examples like this one that I've been able to reference (to see what the aging looked like on those, although I'm sure they varied to some degree anyway), so I can't say that with 100% certainty being that I'm not the original owner, but it all looks very consistent, how it would've come from Suhr. One other note that props that up is that typically satin-finished necks (like what you find on roasted maple necks like this one) will build up a light gloss over time with regular playing, and this neck is still extremely smooth. With that, and the fact that the frets hardly show any wear (even though they're stainless steel and super durable), I'd say that this guitar was played lightly and sparingly enough to not have built up any genuine play wear. I've included some close-up photos of the body to help illustrate the aging, so please make sure to check those out. I have two notes regarding condition: the pickguard has lifted some in-between the two "treble-side" screws (the one on the upper horn and the one next to the top of the control plate, bottom-right corner). This is very typical of a single-ply guard with only 5 screws fastening it down, and will inherently happen over time, but I still wanted to point that out. The face of the bridge looks to have been partially cleaned or buffed, creating a difference in appearance between what I assume is the original scuffing/aging, and where someone could reach with a cloth. Regarding the case: the build sheet specifies a Suhr gig bag as the case that would've originally come with the guitar, but this G&G hard case may have been obtained later by the original owner to replace it. It might have even been provided by Suhr, with this copy of the paperwork never having been updated to reflect the change from gig bag to hard case. At any rate, it's been with the guitar a long time and is definitely a nice upgrade from a gig bag!
*Note - Upon receiving the guitar, please let it acclimate to room temperature before opening the case and removing it. It's especially important with nitro-finished guitars to prevent lacquer checking/cracking. As always, when a guitar is being shipped to an area with a different climate, it's best to let it settle in for a few days before having any necessary setup adjustments made (if any) by a competent tech to fit your personal preference.
Please message me with any questions or concerns before submitting offers and/or payment and I will be happy to help. This guitar will be packaged extremely well using a heavy duty box and plenty of packing material to ensure it's safety during transit. It will also be insured for the full value.
