Ludwig 50s/60s #1363 Flat Base Snare Drum Stand VERY NICE LWFLSS-101

The WFL/Ludwig #1363 Flat Base Snare Drum Stand was introduced with the first flat based stands in 1957. This #1363 was produced sometime between then and 64/65 when they changed the tripod leg profile, specifically the ends where the rubber tips fit and the coupler between the base of the stand and the upper basket assembly. The coupler was changed to a die cast enclosed coupler with an internal pressure ring as opposed to the version found on this stand with the slit tubing and wrap around clamp, sometime prior to 64. The 64 catalog shows the #1363 stand available with the split tube and wrap around clamp version of the couple (as featured on this stand) and original flat base leg design but the all the drum set profile pictures picture the #1363 Snare Stand with the newer style legs (as featured on this stand with P-603 crutch tip ends not the twisted flat profile riveted rubber tips). This stand has characteristics of both versions of the stand, meaning it was produced in the transition period of stand design, sometime after the leg profile was changed and before the more modern die cast coupler design was implemented. The P-207 Carriage Bolt Assemblies (Carriage Bolt, Washer and Large Wing Nut) on both the coupler and the basket tilter are original and in great shape, and the P-2504  Leg Tension Wing Nut and the P-1444 Basket Arm Adjustment Wing Screw are all original and in great shape. The P-2446 black plastic basket sleeves are all original and in amazing shape. The P-603 rubber feet are not original as we replaced them with authentic period correct P-603 new rubber feet. The chrome is shiny and in great condition. A great piece of History that reflects characteristics of the best of the late 50s and modernization of the early to mid sixties. Best guess is this stand was produced around 63.
