This is a 1955 or '56 Martin 0-15. If you are looking at this, you probably know what they are, but it is a small body Concert size guitar with a Mahogany top, back, and sides. It has a Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The finish is original, so whatever Martin was using in the mid-50s. There is crazing in the finish on the body and top as you would expect and may desire. The neck is soft V shaped, and joins the body at the 14th fret. Martin's of this age do not have an adjustable truss rod, but the relief is good with light strings (I wouldn't use anything heavier on a small guitar like this, it is lightly braced).

This guitar sounds terrific! It sounds like an old small bodied Martin - no surprise. What does surprise me is that it has a bit more natural reverb than I expect from an all Mahogany guitar. I can play it in a room with carpet and furniture and to me it still sounds like I am playing in a hall. I have Mahogany OM and it does not do that.

The frets show slight wear but are in good shape. The action at the 12th fret is about 7/64ths on the bass side and 5/64ths on the treble side. The saddle is still high enough to play well, but I don't think it can go any lower so the current setup is as low as it can go. The heel is tight to the body, so the neck joint is in good shape. The pick guard is original and has shrunk some but does not appear to be distressing the top. The tuners look original and work well.

There is a small repaired crack on the back. It was repaired 20 years ago and has not separated. Also the finish on the back center seam is cracked but the seam is not separating - no repairs were needed on this - I think it is just the finish shrinking over time. I have had this guitar for about 20 years and kept in humidified and in the case when I am not playing it. It comes with a good aftermarket plush-lined hard case.

Why am I selling it? I am old - consider this a pre-Estate Sale. I am trying to save my family the trouble of selling my stuff when I am gone. Cheers!
