This is the correct black cover with the cream/ivory surround, made by Gibson in the 1970s/1980s for their Charlie Christian style pickup setups.
And yes… these are one of those parts that everybody needs, nobody has, and when they do show up they’re usually cracked, warped, or from some mystery aftermarket universe.
This one has honest vintage wear, but it’s still solid and totally usable — perfect for:
- A proper restoration
- Completing a period-correct build
- Or bringing a tired old project back from the dead
