Yamaha SG-2000 1980 - Translucent Red
Yamaha SG-2000, 1980, in an uncommon translucent red finish one of the flagship guitars by Yamaha Music Corp. This model was made in Japan in 1980 and sports a Mahogy body with maple cap and laminated thru body neck. Ebony fretboard, with split wing markers, frets ok, plenty of life remaining. Ample binding and brass hardware, including the Sustaining block under the bridge. Swinging in at about 4.3 kgs it’s not for the fainthearted but it has a clear, and distinctive tone from the original alnico V pickups. Guitar is in fairly good condition and generally clean, and like most pre-1980 SG-2000, this guitar does not have coil tapping. Comes with period case
