The 012-28 Modern Deluxe uses the same body design as the prewar 12-fret 0, and it has a torrefied Spruce (VTS) top and East Indian Rosewood back and sides. This particular 012-28 Modern Deluxe has some amazing red grain coloring right along the center seam—such a beautiful top! Paying homage to the storied tradition of Martin guitars, it features a dovetail neck joint and natural protein glue constriction—just like the prewar masterpieces that came before it!

This 012-28 Modern Deluxe produces the focused, balanced Martin tone that has inspired generations. A natural fit for fingerstyle players, this 0 sounds just as good with a pick. Its body feels tiny, but it still packs a surprisingly big sound with clarity across the register. The torrefied top helps a new guitar feel deeply responsive like a played-in guitar that has been enjoyed for decades.

To ensure it will last for decades, too, the 012-28 Modern Deluxe employs an interesting blend of classic details and cutting-edge features. Curly Maple binding around the body protects the guitar's structural integrity, and it will never crack and crumble like plastic binding. Gold frets provide consistent tone, and they won't wear down quickly like nickel frets. Under the hood, you'll find a composite carbon fiber bridge plate, which is strong enough to resist the pull of decades of string tension but lightweight enough to keep the top generating nuanced tone. At the bridge, Liquidmetal bridge pins will stand the test of time. To maintain a consistent setup, a titanium truss rod ensures maximum stability without adding unnecessary weight.
