Super cool vintage wfl snare drum. Original wrap is in great shape. The hardware is nickel and definitely has wear (see pics) but it looks cool being as old as it is and everything functions as it should.
When I got the drum it was missing the badge and needed a strainer so I added an inde strainer so that there was no need to drill extra holes. The badge is a late 40s era WFL badge I had laying around but the hole in the badge is slightly larger than is appropriate for this snare (I believe this snare original had the aluminum WFL badge). I had a grommet that fit the hole so I double sided taped the badge and put the grommet in without peening it over just incase someone wants to add the “correct” badge some point. This one stays put as is, is technically appropriate for the era, and looks great.
New-ish batter head (ambassador) and a snare side with plenty of life left. Brand new fat cat wires made for old drums with deep beds like this one.
All in all a great example of post war production WFL that would fit in with any kit of that era. Ready to play.
