1965 Gibson Melody Maker D Cherry Finish DC Double Cut Vintage Electric Guitar
A highly regarded vintage electric guitar, notable for being lightweight.
Body & Construction: Features a solid slab mahogany body with a double cutaway design for easy high-fret access.
Finish: Classic cherry red nitrocellulose finish with a vintage patina.
Pickups: Vintage Gibson Patent 2737842 humbucker pickup which was added at some point.
Hardware: With non original tunomatic bridge/tailpiece. The guitar at some point had gold gibson tuners and was changed back to the original Kluson white button type tuners.
Weight: Extremely lightweight at 5 lbs 3 oz, making it comfortable for long playing sessions.
Neck: Featuring a one-piece repaired mahogany neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays.
- Note: 1965 was a transition year for nut widths; this guitar features the traditional 1-11/16" nut profile.
