Goodsell Dickiebyrd Super Seventeen Head Amp in excellent condition with a custom-made green vinyl cover and power cord.
TUBES: JJ GZ34S, JJ EL84 X 2, 12AX7, JJ GT12AX7
Great to find a Super Seventeen with tremolo - Richard Goodsell's tremolo circuits are super.
Looks great, sounds great -- Unfortunately, I've acquired too much gear - yes, it happens.
The Dickiebyrd 17 is designed to deliver "monstrous" sound from a compact package, ranging from clean, low-volume tones to gritty, punchy overdriven riffs. It is renowned for its Class A chime and sparkling, three-dimensional tone.
Richard Goodsell's nickname growing up was Dickie, and middle name Byrd. That's where the inspiration for the cool f-ing Dickiebyrd nickname came from. Goodsell's Dickiebyrd line was created to be marketed through different channels -- perhaps due to the reduced cost of the lighter spray-on liner cabinets, that look pretty groovy.
As a Goodsell fan, I was on the lookout for a Dickiebyrd Thunderball Amp for years. So I couldn't resist when this Super Seventeen came along. But, too much gear!
PLEASE NOTE: The Super 17 came in different "flavors" - some had tremolo, reverb, and 5/10 watt switches. This one has the tremolo circuit.
