Here we have a 1950's electric Airline mandolin. These have a really nice tone due to the innovative high quality "Thin Twin" pickup. This was the pickup to have because the later pickups put on these Kay/Airline/Harmony mandolins did not have near the sound quality. Electronics are working fine. Neck is nice with no cracks.
This is a very well made instrument, definitely not a low budget electric mandolin. The tuners are good quality and are working good. The tuners are not original but look fine on the mando. Finish has aging but still looks nice. There are no cracks to the top or the back. There is a tight side crack that is solid and does not affect anything (see last photo for the crack). Also there is only 1 crack at the side of mando in the last photo, the other one is NOT a crack, it is where the top joins the side of the mando. Comes with the original case which does have some wear and a little split on the back but it still protects the instrument.
The action is just under 4MM but it would be very easy to lower it further by sanding the bottom of the wooden bridge.
This is a nice electric mandolin being offered at a price that cannot be beat.
Enjoy!
