1978 Gibson Les Paul Standard in tobacco burst finish!
This guitar is in decent shape for its age and the number of miles it has! This is a well played, all natural road worn relic!
No breaks or repairs. Tons of finish loss, scratches, dings, and wear. Check out how worn the corner of the neck pickup is!
This guitar has been played and it shows. It has been played this much because it sounds amazing. It sounds great unplugged and even better through an amp. It nails that 70’s southern rock tone to a T! It has a hollow yet thick and heavy howl that is tough to describe in words. Crunchy yet sweet. Sustain for days.
The pickups have been replaced with what I believe to be a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge position and a Dimarzio PAF style humbucker in the neck position. All electronics work as they should.
The tuners have been replaced with Grover’s.
I’m not 100% but I think that the knobs might not be original.
It has a slim neck profile towards the nut that gets thicker as you go up in register. The frets are quite worn and low with deeper divots in the cowboy chord area. Fretboard has divots in the cowboy chord area also.
Neck measures approximately:
0.81” 1st fret, 0.94” 12th fret.
It plays good as is with a nice low action but the frets will need attention in the future. I have regularly gigged with it since I’ve owned it.
Weighs 10.3lbs but is very well balanced.
Overall a super cool vintage guitar with tons of mojo and vibe!
Comes with a non original generic black ABS plastic style protector case.
