The Gibson Hummingbird Special brings one of Gibson’s most iconic acoustic designs into a more accessible, player-focused build while holding onto the character that made it legendary. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, it pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides, delivering a warm, balanced voice with a smooth low end and clear, expressive highs. The slightly thinner “concert depth” body keeps the response tight and controlled, helping it sit naturally in a mix while also feeling more comfortable to hold.

The round neck profile offers a fuller, familiar feel in the hand, paired with a rosewood fingerboard and classic parallelogram inlays that instantly call back to the Hummingbird’s heritage. There’s a relaxed, broken-in quality to the way it responds, making it easy to move between strumming and more detailed playing without losing clarity or warmth. It’s a guitar that feels grounded and musical, with a tone that complements a wide range of styles.

Finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer, it carries a clean, understated look, highlighted by a simplified version of the iconic Hummingbird pickguard. The L.R. Baggs Element Bronze system captures that natural tone when plugged in, making it ready for stage or studio use right out of the case. Available at Haggerty’s Music, the Hummingbird Special offers a classic Gibson voice with a refined, modern feel.
