For sale is a pair of 14” A. Zildjian hi hats, with the ”trans stamp,” so made sometime between the late 40s and early 50s.
Very good condition, with only minor edge-wear and scratches. No cracks or keyholes.
Thin matched-weight (688/696 grams) to get that washy, sloshy, jazzy / early Ringo tone you can’t get from hats with heavier bottom cymbals.
The cymbals both have small center holes, so they may not work or may be choked if you use a contemporary hat stand. I’m using a Sonor stand from the 1990s (the kind with a hexagonal pull rod) in the video. These stands work great for hi-hats from this era. Sorry, my stand isn’t for sale.
Cell phone video - the best I can do.
Please tell me your zip code if you make an offer.
