Wow, another beautiful looking and sounding uklele from the same piece of koa, this Live Edge Koa Tenor Ukulele has beautiful grain. Finished in a High Gloss Polyurethane Finish this instrument will maintain its luster with little care other than a wipe down when you put it away. (Don't forget to keep it hydrated at about 49% air/moisture content as you should do with all your fine instruments.)This ukulele features a rosewood arm bevel, rosewood bindings and fretboard, Inlayed accents resembling the koa sapwood in the fretboard with fret markers. The headstock veneer shows off the Koa colors and grain.. Check out the grain on the top, back and sides.

Strung with Worth Brown Low-G Fluorocarbon strings for great tone, this ukulele produces great projection and has excellent sustain. Low action of the strings make this instrument easy to play. The side sound port adds to the warm tone so the player can hear it as well as those around the instrument.

Special "no surprises' note: This ukulele has a 'through the body" string connection at the bridge. Through the body offers several advantages to the more common "tied bridge". It is more modern looking, it is stronger against the high tension of the strings and it produces better sound transfer to the top. However, it is just a tad more difficult to change the strings until you are used to it.

I use a straightened out paper clip with a small hook at the end to 'snag' the strings after I insert them through the top. Then pull the end of the string through the top sound hole. After tying a small bead to the string I pull the string through the bridge until the bead is under the bridge. While this feels a bit strange the first time you do it, it really is not difficult. You can find several Youtube videos on replacing through the bridge strings to give you a better idea of what is involved with changing the strings.
