This 1971 Fender Precision Bass is a standout example from a pivotal era in Fender history. Finished in Natural with a white pickguard, this is likely one of the earliest Natural finish P-Basses to leave the factory, as this finish didn't become a standard catalog staple until shortly after. We acquired this instrument directly from its original owner in Ohio, who played it for years in a duo with his brother. It is an honest, one-owner guitar with a great story and the kind of soul you only find in instruments that were truly loved.

Condition-wise, this bass has been played and enjoyed, but never abused. It shows some classic arm wear on the lower bout and a bit of buckle rash on the back, providing that authentic vintage look that modern "relics" try so hard to emulate. The finish has aged beautifully, highlighting the grain of the wood. Most importantly, it remains exceptionally original, even retaining the original pickup and bridge covers—parts that are almost always lost to time.

A major highlight of this particular Precision Bass is the weight. At 9.46 lbs, it is a very comfortable weight for an early 70s Fender, offering plenty of sustain and resonance without the back-breaking heaviness often associated with mid-to-late 70s models.

The tone is exactly what you want from a vintage P-Bass: thick, punchy, and authoritative. It plays and sounds awesome across the entire neck, delivering that classic "thump" that has defined countless recordings. It comes complete with its original hardshell case, making it a "no-excuses" addition for any player or collector looking for a high-value vintage instrument with rock-solid provenance.
