This 1969 Martin D12-35 is an extraordinary find for any serious collector or player. As a 1969 model, it represents the final era of Brazilian Rosewood production at the Martin factory, and this particular example features a stunning set of rosewood for the back and sides. While vintage 12-strings are often plagued by structural issues like sinking tops, loose braces, or the immediate need for a neck reset, this guitar is a rare "no-excuses" example. It is in very, very nice shape and is 100% ready to go.
The structural integrity of this Martin is top-tier. It features a perfect neck angle with low, easy action, meaning it plays effortlessly across the entire fingerboard with no neck reset required. The pickguard has been professionally replaced, as the original had begun the standard curling process common for this era. Fortunately, the original was caught early, so there is no damage or "pickguard crack" in the spruce top. The rest of the guitar remains exceptionally clean and highlights the premium craftsmanship Martin was known for in the late 60s.
Tonally, this D12-35 is among the best-sounding 12-strings available. It delivers a massive, resonant voice with the signature chime and harmonic complexity that only aged Brazilian Rosewood can produce. It is balanced, articulate, and sounds fantastic whether you are recording in the studio or playing at home. This instrument comes with its original Martin hardshell case featuring the classic green interior, which is also in very good condition. If you have been looking for a high-value, authentic vintage 12-string that needs nothing but a player, this is the nicest example you are likely to find.
