For your consideration is a vintage Ventura V-6 dreadnought acoustic guitar, a classic 1970s Japanese-built instrument inspired by the iconic Gibson Dove design, complete with a hard shell case.
Ventura guitars were distributed by C. Bruno & Son of New York and produced in Japan during the late 1960s through the 1970s. Known for offering solid craftsmanship at an accessible price point, these instruments have become increasingly appreciated for their vintage character and unique place in the “lawsuit-era” of guitar manufacturing. The V-6 model features the distinctive square-shoulder dreadnought body and oversized pickguard reminiscent of its American counterparts, giving it a bold visual presence.
It features a spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. The guitar retains its classic aesthetic with aged finish and period-correct styling.
Condition-wise, this guitar shows honest wear consistent with its age along with structural issues. There are visible scratches, dings, and finish wear throughout, as well as some cosmetic impressions on the neck and body. There is a crack forming at the bridge area, and the guitar currently has higher-than-average string action, which may indicate the need for additional setup work or possible neck angle attention depending on player preference. Despite these points, the instrument remains structurally intact and primed for a new start!
The guitar includes a vintage hard shell case with a red interior, which shows wear but remains functional and adds to the overall value and appeal.
