Up for sale is a 1966 Fender Bandmaster blackface head with its original matching 2x12 cabinet—a classic piggyback setup from Fender’s golden era.

The amp retains its original Schumacher transformers (606 codes dating to 1966) and delivers the unmistakable blackface Fender tone: clear, punchy, and highly dynamic with excellent headroom.

The cabinet appears to be original, but the speakers have been upgraded to a pair of JBL K120s, likely installed in the 1970s by the original owner. While not factory original, these are highly desirable vintage speakers known for their clarity, tight low end, and extended headroom—and are often sought out for Fender amps.

The amp has been well maintained and lightly used (not gigged ) on and off since its last major service circa 2009. The JJ power tubes have very little use. V1-V3 are the correct pre-amp tubes, but newer JJ. V4 is a vintage GE 12at7 pre-amp tube. You can see from the photos that the amp has been carefully maintained , having all the necessary capacitors updates while also retaining the coveted blue “molded” signal caps, which are a huge part of the tone of these prized black panel fender amps.

The amp runs quiet and sounds great, with no issues to mention.
