Yamaha RGX 512J HSS CAR Select by EMG pickups 24.75" Scale Rare

Up for sale is a Yamaha RGX 512J finished in Candy Apple Red metallic color in good condition. It features HSS pickup configuration and pickups are Select by EMG - note these not active pickups.

This guitar was Made in Japan in the late 80s and has been long out production.

The frets are medium jumbo and the fretboard is a flatter 12" radius allowing for a low action and fast runs and fingering. The neck profile is a fast slim and the width at the nut is aprox. 42 mm.

The tone control features a push-pull switch which splits the humbucking coil adding 2 extra tonalities to the 5-way switch.

The bridge is a two point pivot with fine tuning but not locking, but features a locking nut which helps keep the guitar in tune. Currently the bridge is not floating but it can be adjusted to a floating state with an arm bar.

The guitar body has its share of nicks, dings and touched up areas but it plays and sounds really good. There is a finish crack on the upper side of the neck pocket and behind the neck there are nicks and dings at the headstock area.

I imported this guitar from Japan a while back, never played it much all and never took it outside the house. It will be shipped in a gig bag but I will bubble wrap it before placing inside the gig bag. Sorry I but I did not get the tremolo arm with this guitar.

The fit and finish of these guitars are excellent rivaling other more famous brands that costs way more. This particular model and trim has been long discontinued and it is getting harder to find these nowadays.

The guitar weighs 7 lbs and 11 oz.
