Jason Smith built this bass to feel like it's already lived a life of gigs, sessions, and late nights worn right into the nitro. The aging on this thing is absolutely dialed. The translucent ebony finish is worn through to bare ash in all the right places, with the grain popping through every wear point like a topographic map of decades on the road. Checking, dings, oxidized hardware - it looks like a bass that's been earning its keep since 1959. That's the difference between a good relic job and a Masterbuilt relic job, and Jason Smith is one of the best at getting it right.

The maple neck with the Tele-style headstock on this bass is a weapon, broken in and silky, with fretwork you'd expect from a builder at this level. It sits in your hand like it was already yours. No stiffness, no adjustment period - immaculate setup. The P/J pickup configuration gives you the fat, chest-punching P-bass tone when you want to hold down the room, and the Jazz bridge pickup lets you dial in growl and cut when you need to push through a mix.

Comes with the tweed case (black interior), Certificate of Authenticity, and all the Custom Shop documentation. This is a player's bass that happens to be a collector's piece - or maybe it's the other way around. Either way, this one-of-a-kind bass absolutely rocks.
