very cool fender product from 80s japan era. made in the famed fujigen gakki factory. this one is in incredible shape, includes a case, and honestly lived most of its life in that case. barely any flaws in the finish (a few little spots pictured).
i modded this guitar with a new pickguard, got rid of some of the clutter on the original control layout and set this thing up like a tele — 3 position pickup switch, tone, volume, that’s it.
the original humbuckers that came with the H2 models were a bit smaller than normal humbuckers, so i had a pickguard made that would accommodate regular humbuckers. because of the factory routing being fairly accommodating, this required no extra routing or damage to the body at all. the humbuckers i installed are some hotter japanese humbuckers of some kind, also old. they sound great, and you can easily swap the pickups with other humbuckers of your choosing thanks to the replacement guard.
also includes a mojotone oil capacitor. gives it a nice pronounced roll-off when you want it.
the neck on this guitar is amazing. overall a really really cool piece, super fun to play.
