Up for sale is my Oberheim OB-6 in overall good condition. This is a fantastic-sounding instrument that's fully functional and ready to perform or record.
The good: The main panel is in excellent condition — no scratches, fading, or wear to speak of. All keys, knobs, and buttons work perfectly, so you're getting a fully operational synth with no surprises.
The cosmetics: Both walnut side cheeks show some wear. The left cheek has a ding and a sticker mark, and the right cheek has a ding as well. The front edge of one cheek also has a crack in the walnut. None of this affects playability in any way, but worth noting for the detail-oriented. For what it's worth, brand new replacement cheeks are available directly from Oberheim for around $40 — an easy fix if you want it looking showroom fresh.
The bottom line: This is a synth you buy to play, and it delivers everything the OB-6 is known for — lush six-voice polyphony, classic SEM-inspired filters, and that unmistakable Oberheim character. Grab some new cheeks and you've got a synth that looks and plays like new for a fraction of the cost.
