A standout Fender Custom Shop build that pushes the Tele platform into more versatile territory, this American Custom Tele RW NOS blends classic DNA with a few thoughtful departures. The aged Charcoal Frost Metallic top paired with aged black back and sides gives it a refined, almost custom-color look, while the NOS finish keeps it clean and understated without heavy relic work.

This one is built on a ’60 Tele Custom platform with a bound ash body and contoured heel, giving it a slightly more elevated feel both visually and ergonomically. Tonally, it opens things up quite a bit compared to a traditional Tele. The bridge is fitted with a hand-wound Texas Special for that familiar snap and bite, while the neck houses a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover humbucker, adding warmth, depth, and a smoother top end. It’s a great balance of clarity and fullness that covers a lot of ground.

The roasted birdseye maple neck paired with a rosewood board feels instantly broken in, shaped to a comfortable ’60s Oval C with a compound radius that plays effortlessly up and down the neck. Locking tuners and modern touches throughout make it a very player-forward Custom Shop piece.

A unique, well-spec’d Tele that keeps its identity while offering a broader tonal range.
