Vintage 1980's Atlas Sound MS20 / MS4 microphone floor stand MS25 MS12C RCA Shure

You are looking at a older 1980's era Atlas MS-20 "Heavy Duty" model microphone floor stand built in  and was an upgraded model in the Atlas Corp line up. It has the modern rounded one tier cast iron painted base with dual chrome adjustable risers. The MS-20 model was a high quality, rugged build and was sold by Atlas out of Fenton, MO and is still being sold today though the new ones I believe are made in China. This is the older American model with the unique blue label.

 Pic # 2 is from an old 1960's era Atlas catalog showing this very mic stand and it's basic characteristics. The MS-20 has been sold by Atlas since the 1950's. It's a very practical stand with plenty of height and very similar to the MS-4 model. 

 The MS-20 has the slim cast iron painted base like the MS-12C & MS-4 model. The MS-20 has a base that is just 10 inches wide and appx 15 pounds in weight but the adjustable height ranges between of 37 inches low to 66 inches tall giving you more than enough height to work with.

 This MS-20 is a very tough and rugged stand being almost indestructible and made much better than most stands sold today. You could fight a grizzly bear off with this stand.

 This MS-20 does show typical wear but it's still in very good overall condition. The chrome on the upper riser has just lite scratches and scuff marks. The lower chrome riser has spots of corrosion and scratches but free of dents. The original Atlas sticker is still present though partially missing. The clutch mechanism to lower the top riser works accordingly and in great condition. The cast iron base is in pretty nice as well with lite scratches and scuff marks. It still has the original black paint.  

 The bottom of the base shows no rust stains. The 3 original rubber pads show very lite wear.

 This stand will accept any screw on mic or mic clip you have. It has the 5/8 X 27 universal thread on top.

 Overall this stand is an easy 7 on a scale of 1 - 10. I'm very picky though. Others would probably find it nicer.
