Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome.

You are looking at a studio quality, vintage 1970's era Electro Voice model 660 dynamic super cardioid microphones that comes with the E.V mic clip, Belden 8422 model cable and new Auray exterior pop filter. These rugged classic microphones were made by E.V in the U.S.A for almost 30 years before being discontinued and was used for several applications including broadcasting and singing.

Pic # 2 is from an old E.V advertisement that shows technical characteristics on this model mic.

The 660 came in both stick form as well as with the lower pistol grip depending on your needs but these two were the stick mic variants that you could either place in a mic clip or simply hold in the hand while live.

This is only the 3rd E.V 660 I currently have and they seem to sell fast due to the high demand of these microphones. It's not the prettiest example I have offered over the years but it's in very good overall condition and works perfectly. You'll want to grab this 660 before it's gone. I rarely get these in.

The E.V 660 is a light weight microphone set at 150 OHMS (Low impedance) and it has a smooth, warm tone that's excellent for broadcasting and singing. It's not super bass heavy like a Shure SM-58. More mid-range with a brighter tone and an excellent frequency response.   These mics are dual Z as well so if you wire it properly you can get high Z but currently it's factory set at low impedance. The wires to make the change are inside the mics handle and it takes but 5 seconds to change the impedance.

These are some of the finest and most desirable E.V mics of the 1970's and 80's.

The 660 uni-directional (super cardioid) picking up only your voice directly in front of the screen and cancelling out unwanted background noise. It has a very tight polar pattern.

I don't know the first year this was introduced but it seems to have started production in the late late 1960's and made into the early 2000's before being discontinued.

You'll notice that these 660 mics come in both a satin chrome finish or painted finish. The paint basically eliminated any glare that would be caused from bright lights. This has the satin chrome finish and it does show some wear on the chrome handle. No dents or fractures however. The front screens on this mic are in very nice condition with very subtle deformation but zero odors or tarnish. The E.V label looks pretty good with lite wear and completely legible.

 I'd rate this mic an easy 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10.

It should be noted that this mic has a new inner foam pop filter / liner. These inner foam pop filters greatly help with the acoustics of the mic. The foam is in great shape and will last for several decades to come. The new foam / pop filter cuts down any unwanted feedback due to wind or breathing. If you buy a used 660 model mic you'll want to make sure the inner foam pop filters are replaced professionally.

I am also including a new Auray brand black exterior pop filter that fits over the front of the mic. It's just an added layer of protection and you'll notice that it really cleans up the sound and it's there for you if you needed it.

The original E.V 358 model mic clip is in good shape and grips the mic very well. it shows several scuff marks and scratches but free of fractures. It will give you any amount of tilt needed and wills crew onto any desk or floor stand you have.

The vintage Belden 8422 model cable is also included to operate the mic. It's in excellent condition and shows just lite stains on the exterior of the cable. Works perfectly. It has the two quality Swithccraft XLR connectors and it's appx 25 feet long. More than enough length for any studio or stage work.

The mics measure 6 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 wide at the screen.

The mics take a standard XLR cable which is not included. I cleaned the XLR pins on these mics as well ensuring a perfect signal once a cable is attached.                                                                                                                                              MICROPHONE STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

As with all my vintage microphones...
