Vintage RARE 1940's / 50's Shure A772A microphone radio flag for 55 556 55A 55B 55C # 1

You are looking at one of the rarest vintage Shure mic accessories ever offered which was used specifically for the Shure 55 "Fatboy" model and all 55 variants such as the 556, 55A, 55B and 55C models.

 Pic# 2 is from a 1951 Shure catalog showing this very adapter along with it's basic characteristics. 

 Back in the 1930's, 40 and 50's there were thousands of radio station all over the country using a wide array of microphones to broadcast and even to sing with and it was quite popular for those stations to promote themselves by placing radio flags on their mics.

 Shure offered the A72A model to fill the void and was sold for several years until the manufacture and sell of the 55 model was discontinued. This A72A is a brand new (never used N.O.S) in original box all aluminum with stock black paint blank flag.

 The radio station would take this flag to a machine shop and have their radio number and letters ground into the flag or painted. The A72A is custom fit to the 55 model and there is side panels to accept the same. 

 There are 4 original screws that are used to tighten the flag firmly to the 55 once in place and those screws fit between the side slots in both the front and rear grills. You'll see how the flag sits on a Shure 55 model I have on the Shure S-36 stand to give you an idea of how it looks and it's true size.

 This will NOT work on a Shure 55S, 55SW or 55SH. Those mics are far too small to accept this flag. 

 Again, zero wear on this flag and the original (equally hard to find) A72A box is included and looks very nice. You probably won't ever see another one of these offered for sell anywhere online. If you want one of the rarest and coolest accessories there is for your 55 then look no further. This is basically priceless.
