Two vintage AKG D70ME Dynamic cardioid Microphones Low Z w mic clips and case drum, toms, brass

 You are looking at two unique and somewhat rarer matching 1980's era AKG model D70ME dynamic cardioid microphones made in Austria with outstanding sound characteristics and easily on par with most any great dynamic microphone you could possibly think of from that era. This mic comes with the practical metal mic case shown.

 The D70ME has a very modern, bold, masculine design with a rugged plastic body. Very aggressive in nature. It's lite weight and only 7 inches long X 1 1/4 inches wide at the tip.

 Pic # 2 & 3 shows this very model and it's basic characteristics. AKG states that this is ideal for tom toms, percussion instruments and horns. I have seen this used for vocal with many musicians from old videos in the 1980's as well.

 It has a smooth tone that is more mid range sounding though it set at low Z. Quite a strong signal as well. The D70ME model did not come with the on / off switch. 

 The AKG mics were almost always very high quality and known for their durability and superb sound.

 As you can see both mics have virtually no wear on the black finish of this mic. Just a couple very subtle scuff marks. It's free of any dents or fractures. The front screens are free of tarnish or dents as well. This D70ME needed a new inner pop filter as the original was all but missing. This has been addressed and the new pop filters will do an excellent job of keeping those dreaded "pops" away when you get close to the mic from breathing or heavy wind. Screens were cleaned as well so it's free of any odors. The XLR pins have been cleaned for a perfect signal as well. The mics take a standard XLR cable though none are provided.

 The mic is uni-directional and is great at cancelling out most background noise. I would compare the tone of this microphone to the Electro Voice 635A model. Very similar.

 The mics come with a mic clips that works very well and really compliments the look. The clip will screw onto any desk or floor stand as well. The mic clip shows no wear and grips the mic firmly and will tilt nicely up and down as needed.

   The beautiful vintage metal case is included as well in which to store your mics and any cables you'd like to use. The case has a practical carrying handle and locking mechanism. It also has the detachable upper tray that is held in place once the top lid is closed. There are actually two levels inside the case. The top level is for the mics and the lower is for any cables needed. It has the original mustard gold paint scheme and it's in gorgeous original condition. I added three new foam inner pads to keep the mics safe and snug as well as any cables. It's a very rugged design and compliments the mic nicely. Plenty of room inside for everything and more. Zero dents or corrosion and it's a great accessory to have to keep these items safe from damage.

 The case is appx 14 inches long X 7 1/2 inches deep X 4 inches tall.

 Overall I would rate these mics a 9 cosmetically speaking on a scale of 1 - 10. The real beauty of these mics is the sound they produces and I would recommend actually using this piece rather than for display. They've got many good years ahead of them.
