  You are looking at a rarer, high quality 1980's era Shure Brothers Beta 57 dynamic super cardioid microphone that doesn't come around too often. I'm not sure the exact story behind this Beta 57 model but it was made for a short time during the 1980's and was a superior variant of the SM-57. The sound quality on these models are superb and excellent for singing and broadcasting as they were intended. It comes with an original Shure A-25 mic clip and an older mic case in which to store everything. This Beta 57 model is set at low impedance and made in America. 

  I don't have a data sheet on the Beta 57 but it was widely used by many musical artists for recording and while performing live such as Axel Rose form Guns & Roses as seen in pic # 2.

Pics # 3 & 4 shows the original period data sheet for this 1st gen mic with all the basic characteristics. You are more than welcome to make copies of these for yourself.

 The Shure Beta 57 was a higher end dynamic super cardioid microphone in the Shure Brothers line up. These mics are so well made that properly stored...will last probably 100 years. It has an all metal construction with an elegant design that is both modern and classy. This was the competition to any E.V RE15 or RE10. The sound quality and build is on par easily.

 The Shure Beta 57 has a beautiful warm tone with just the right amount of bass. These mics are a uni-directional super cardioid pattern picking up only the sound that's directly in front of the screen cancelling out most background noise making it ideal for situations where audience or fellow band members might be a problem. It comes in the classic grey / blue paint scheme.

 This mic can be handheld or placed in a mic clip depending on the users needs.

 As you can see the original painted surface shows extremely lite wear and probably the nicest I have ever personally seen.   There is just a very subtle spot of discoloration on the handle by the Beta 57 badge. Otherwise it's absolutely gorgeous. It was very well taken care of over the decades. The Shure label / badge looks excellent with zero wear. The globe is free of any odors, dents or corrosion. It's been cleaned and this mic has a new inner foam insert / pop filter in the front grill and it's in excellent condition. It helps greatly with acoustics and prevents the dreaded "pops" from breathing or windy conditions. Mic is 100% complete and solid. No loose parts. XLR pins have been cleaned as well. 

 I'd rate the true cosmetic condition of this Beta 57 an 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10. 

 The clip is an original Shure A25 model and it works perfectly for this Beta 58 with very lite cosmetic wear. It gives a wide degree of tilt up and down and the clip grips the mic very well. It will screw on to any American desk or floor stand.

 The Beta 58 takes a standard XLR cable to operate the mic which is not included.

  The mic case / box is also included and it's in excellent condition. A great place to store your mic when not in use to keep the scratches and dings away. The case is made of aluminum with a nice brown vinyl exterior. The gorgeous case is appx 9 1/2 inches across X 7 inches deep X 3 inches tall. The two new foam pads will keep the mic safe and snug.   There is a locking mechanism as well to keep the lid securely shut. Handle allows you to carry this easily. A great package deal all around and you'll really appreciate the case to keep everything in. More than enough room for a cable as well.
