Hello and welcome to The House of chrome.
You are looking at a great general purpose microphone made by Electro Voice during the 1960's & 70's with outstanding sound quality that just happens to make for a great dynamic harp mic today. It comes with all of it's original accessories which include the data sheet, cable and 607 box. A nice package deal and you'll be very hard pressed to find a 607 as nice as this. I currently have three of these available if you need more than one.
Pic # 2 shows this 607 in an old E.V catalog I have along with it's basic characteristics.
I haven't even had a working 607 mic to offer in almost 4 years. I just very rarely see these mics around. It should be noted that this 607 was never used. I had to install an end connector on the cable as there was none. This mic sat in the box untouched for the last 40 + years.
This very seldom seen mic was basically a replacement for the E.V 638 model which looked quite similar but was a bit heavier and had a more mid century front grill. The 607 was a bit less unique in styling but probably more practical all around.
Pic # 4 is from the actual data sheet provided showing all the technical info on this mic which will come in handy and a great accessory for resale value.
It should be noted that this mic has been cleaned and tested. The mic signal is 100% and set at high impedance giving you an old school "rockabilly" tone that's void of bass. The mic is omni-directional as well.
Made right here in the U.S.A 40 + years ago this chunky, little mic is covered from head to toe in polished chrome. The front grill is free of dents, odors or tarnish and I replaced the inner foam pop filter as the original was all but degraded.
The mic is a real gem with almost no cosmetic wear as you can see in the detailed pics provided. Just a few tiny scuff marks on the lower pistol grip probably from the mic rubbing against the cable and I'd rate it a true 9 + on a scale of 1 -10. The threads for both the cable and stand are excellent with zero wear. The 607 badge is flawless. This one is ready to plug in and play. This 607 is solid. No loose parts inside or out.
The mic comes with a 15 foot cable that is soft, pliable and has the standard male 1/4 inch end connector that works with most modern and older audio equipment as well as all guitar amplifiers.
The original box looks very nice and a great place to store the items when not in actual use.
If you demand a 607 that works as good as it looks...this one will not disappoint.
MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.
The mic will screw onto any stand you have. If you need a period stand I have several for sale in my Ebay and Reverb store.
