The Pheo Rose is based on a heavily modified Austin Hatchet, mahogany and maple neck through body, newly refretted, 24 3/4 scale, with 1 5/8 nut. The hollow wings are made of Spanish cedar. Oil finish. The pickups, pots, and switching are from a Taylor Solid Body Standard. The five way switch's 1st position is the neck pickup. Second is the inside coils of both humbuckers in parallel (funky quack tone). Third position is the neck humbucker plus the inside coil of the bridge humbucker (funky but with more body). Fourth position is the inside coils of both humbuckers in series (bold, wide, middle humbucker). Fifth position is the bridge pickup. The pickups are Taylor High Definition (low wind) humbuckers (great pickups). The pickups and switching give an incredibly interesting array of sounds that you can look up on the web. I like the sound of this guitar a lot. No case or gig bag, but I might ship it in an odd gig bag just for protection. Oh, and the middle black knob is a secret, mystery knob. It does whatever your guitar needs to sound perfect. Only the most sophisticated ears can hear its effect.
