I am offering a Fender Road Worn ‘50s Telecaster from 2008, a manufactured in Ensenada, Mexico, Telecaster model from the highly sought-after first Road Worn series, featuring a solid alder body (weighing just 3.19kg!), bolt-on maple neck with “C-neck profile and factory sanded neck back, elegant maple fingerboard with black dot inlays and 42mm nut width, two wiry-hot Fender Tex-Mex Tele singlecoils as well as a three-piece Vintage Style Tele bridge with nickel saddles in an authentically aged 2-Color Sunburst nitro finish, including numerous Road Worn relic marks, in excellent condition, including a black Rockcase hardshell case and professional setup with 10-gauge Ernie Ball strings.

First introduced in 2008, the Road Worn series combines elaborate aging techniques with vintage-accurate specifications to capture the feel and look of genuine vintage instruments. Thin nitrocellulose finishes and carefully applied relic marks not only provide the characteristic vintage vibe but also ensure a particularly open resonance and a well-played feel right from the start.

This handcrafted Fender Road Worn ‘ 50s Telecaster from the first production year of 2008 combines a solid alder body—weighing 3.19 kg for smooth handling—with a bolt-on maple neck featuring a maple fingerboard, a three-piece vintage bridge with nickel saddles, and vintage nickel tuners, embodying the quintessential classic vintage specs. Thanks to the factory-sanded back of the neck, the instrument immediately feels very high-quality and plays like a genuine 60-year-old guitar.

Plugged in, the Fender Tex-Mex single-coils deliver a wiry Tele twang with slightly more output and punch. The bridge pickup delivers biting, assertive highs with a crisp attack, while the neck pickup offers warm, round tones with a pleasant fullness. In the middle position, the typical, slightly hollow Tele sound emerges, which is ideal for rhythm work.

A sound sample of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.

In terms of playability, the medium-wide “C” profile and the characteristic 7.25” vintage fretboard radius convey an authentic 1950s feel. The seamlessly executed 2-Color Sunburst Road Worn Nitro finish, combined with the patinated nickel hardware and the single-ply white pickguard, perfectly complement the guitar’s visual appearance.
