Industrial Series Black Tar. Black Tar is the result of trying to push a "Rat" style circuit to it's limits. It always bugged me that some people considered it a fuzz. Although i have heard a few vintage Rats get fuzzy, most kind of barely get there, more of an overdrive to a slightly fuzzy distortion range on them. This shifts that to an area of distortion to a massive wall of noise fuzz. It starts with the drive section of a modded Rat that has had the tone and output sections ripped off. The simple stock filter control has been replaced with a wide sweeping "flat mids" Big Muff tone stack, that boost highs one way and lows the other, while keeping the center frequencies mostly untouched. The clean Jfet output has been replaced by a dirtier high gain darlington transistor stage. This Frankenstein Rat is definitely geared torward doom/sludge/noise.
Industrial Series effects have raw stamped or painted and worn aluminum enclosures and use modern non-vintage parts, to bring them to you cheaper. Pictures are examples and things such as LED color, knob type and color, enclosure color (if painted and worn). These are built as they are ordered, but i usually am pretty fast at getting them out.
