My version of the classic Tonbender MKII that has been famously used by Jimmy Page and heard on Led Zeppelin's debut. Every tonebender that I build, has to have the vibe and feel of the song Dazed and Confused. So every pedal is built with the telecaster as the main guitar for testing purposes. Les Pauls and Sg's are second. Every bender has to work well with dirty amps and clean amps too. However, tonebenders will not clean up that well. So keep this in mind. If having a good clean up fuzz is what your after, than you can't go wrong with a great fuzz face.
I do mod these benders for a little more volume.
For this latest batch of benders, I use 3 matched, medium-gain npn russian germanium transistors. These transistors are npn which means that you will not have to use a separate power supply (pnp transistors would use a positive power supply). So standard power supplies (Boss, One Spot, Pedal power, etc) will work great with this pedal.
