Doug Wimbish is a bass player that needs no introduction, his playing and epic catalog of work speak for themselves. From rocking stages with Living Colour to the countless studio sessions he has been a part of, from hard rock to soul and R&B, Doug has done it all. One thing that has remained consistent for Doug over the years is the powerful tone he gets from the original EMG PJ Sets in his Spector basses. With this legacy in mind, EMG set out to recreate and recapture the magic of that original set from the 80’s with his new signature set.

Previously only available in his Signature Spector Bass, the Doug Wimbish signature PJ Set was created using Doug’s exact EMG PJ Set that he has been using since the early 80’s. By listening to the PJ Set in his 80’s Spector bass, EMG was able to recreate the nostalgic tone bass players originally fell in love with. The DW PJ Set uses the original EMG logo to make it a truly authentic throwback in tone and aesthetic.

*ATTENTION: Please note, most Spector PJ basses will use our short Jazz pickup in the bridge position instead of the typical long jazz pickup. However, we recommend measuring your jazz pickup in either case to ensure the correct sizing.

Like all EMG products, this set includes the solderless wiring system for simple installation. Make sure to check the instructions for pickup measurements before purchasing to compare your existing pickups with EMG models.
