When you look close at this tailor 12 string, you'll notice that it's stung left-handed. I'm a lefty and I really wanted to see what this guitar would sound like when I put my hands around it. Also notice that it is NOT a cutaway. To a lefty player, this was nice since when she got new string orientation in did not look like a conversion. Most of the guitars that I play are parlor or concert sized instruments. My muscle memory is much cleaner when moving this idea to that 12er sound.
She is a comfortable 12-string with a small body 12 fret sonic machine wrapper. The smaller neck scale complements my finger style. I would learn a song on a Gretch Jim Dandy and then see how it sounds with all that only a Taylor 12 string brings to the table. It was truly fun to have this perspective on a song. I loved having this 12er around to get a full and rich octave-complex perspective. Sorry Girl, I going to miss you. Don’t worry, I will find you a loving home. I will leave her strung left-handed, but I have also included a new pack of D'Addario strings for a new beginning.
The Taylor 362ce 12-Fret 12-String Grand Concert acoustic-electric guitar provides a comfortable playing experience and signature 12-string sound. Taylor's 300 Series has introduced countless musicians to the pleasures of an all-solid-wood guitar. With its compact Grand Concert body shape, tropical mahogany back and sides, and V-Class bracing, the 362ce serves up a balanced tone with rich midrange and shimmering highs. The hardwood top helps focus the sound with minimal overtones, while the mahogany neck offers a smooth playing feel. The 362ce is ideal for fingerstyle and light strumming, with enough projection to shine through when performing with other instruments.
Compact Body Delivers Controlled Overtones
The Grand Concert body shape is slightly smaller than Taylor's Grand Auditorium, yielding controlled overtones so the sound won't occupy too much sonic space. This allows the 362ce to be heard clearly when playing with other instruments. The intimate size also makes it comfortable to play whether sitting or standing. The compact body provides an articulate voice with chimey highs, perfect for intricate fingerpicking passages and light strumming.
Premium Tonewoods Produce a Balanced Tone
The 362ce's solid tropical mahogany top, back and sides produce a balanced tone with a strong midrange and restrained overtones. Mahogany responds well to assertive playing styles but has natural compression that smooths out your technique. Its clear, direct tone allows the 362ce to cut through when performing with other instruments. The hardwood top helps focus the sound with minimal overtones for a clear, focused tone.
V-Class Bracing Improves Playability and Tuning
Taylor's revolutionary V-Class bracing improves the 362ce's volume, sustain and tuning. The bracing creates notes that ring out with more clarity and consistency for a musical playing experience. V-Class bracing also makes the 362ce easier to tune precisely. You'll appreciate how the purer pitch sounds more solid and resonant. The improved intonation means chords and melodies ring sweeter up and down the fingerboard.
Express Yourself with the ES2 Electronics
The 362ce comes equipped with Taylor's ES2 pickup, providing a natural acoustic sound when plugged in. The ES2 captures the nuances of your playing dynamics and the guitar's Tonewood resonance. A volume knob and tone control let you shape the amplified sound to suit the venue or recording equipment. The 362ce gives you an inspiring acoustic experience whether playing unplugged or amplified on stage.

The 362ce offers stunning, shimmering octave sound in a compact body that makes it one of the most comfortable 12-string guitars on the market. This all-mahogany Grand Concert serves up a punchy midrange response that remains balanced across the frequency spectrum, with V-Class bracing inside boosting the volume, sustain and overall tunefulness of the guitar. The hardwood top even helps out an aggressive attack, delivering a focused sound with minimal overtones. With a slightly shorter scale length of 24-7/8", players will notice a slinkier feel down the neck, making it easier to hold notes and chords. The 362ce sports a dusky visual style with a dark edgeburst finish treatment and firestripe pickguard, and ships with ES2 electronics
This is what players are saying.
“On first playing the 362e I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of sound. The 362 delivers a very good 12 string sound, better than I imagined a smaller body capable of producing. As with all Taylor guitars the build quality is superb, comfort and playability are also good, aided by the slim neck profile.
“An interesting 12 string, this parlor sized guitar puts out more sound than you would expect. The mahogany top rolls off a little top end, boosting the midrange that you wouldn’t normally hear on something this compact.” - Ian, Taylor Guitars Expert
From Taylor Guitar’s Website: "Taylor's Grand Concert 12-string guitars have been a revelation to players who’ve otherwise avoided 12-strings due to their traditionally bulkier size. In addition to the compact cutaway body, the 12-fret neck and 24-7/8-inch scale length translate into a physically inviting playing experience with a supremely comfortable hand feel. Sonically, the smaller body produces a more controlled 12-string voice that sits beautifully in a mix for recording applications. With the 362ce, a hardwood mahogany top (paired with blackwood back and sides) lends a bit of natural compression to the response, helping to create a balanced output across the tonal spectrum while still capturing the 12-string’s beautiful octave shimmer. Visually, the shaded edgeburst top and all-satin finish conjure a dusky vintage look. The guitar comes equipped with Taylor’s ES2 electronics and includes a deluxe hardshell case.
