Here's some info from Ibanez: “Ibanez semi and full acoustics have remained faithful to the strict standards of traditional craftsmanship while continuing to evolve with innovations in hardware, pickups and neck design. For 1993, Ibanez AF, AM and AS guitars feature a completely redesigned bracing system which makes these painstakingly crafted instruments even more resonant.
The AM200 is the thinnest and smallest of the Artstar body styles. Its 44mm (1.76 inch) thickness provides the comfort of a solid body with the rich, open sound of a semi-acoustic, making it particularly well-suited for blues and rock. A maple center-block inhibits feedback during high volume performances.”
