the longsword from our dear friends at electronic audio experiments is an absolute monster of a dirt box. at risk of sounding like "yeah dad, ya told us." this op-amp based drive machine can do everything from clean boost to massive wall of sound distortion. it's become very normal to see this staple on many different rigs. bass, guitar, baritone, extended range, 8/9 strings, etc... it's power is in it's flexibilty and it's meticulously crafted eq section.

Controls:

• Level: output volume

• Drive: go from light grit to heavy overdrive

• Low/High: James/Baxandall tone stack (shelving filters)

• Mid: active midrange boost/cut

• Shift: selects frequency controlled by Mid pot

• Diode: selects between clipping diodes, to alter dynamics and headroom

  • Up: MOSFET clipping, medium compression

  • Center: no diodes, minimal compression

  • Down: Silicon diode clipping, maximum compression

• Boost (Footswitch): engages a front end mid boost

• Boost (Knob): adds up to 20dB of gain when the Boost is engaged
