Bruce Sexauer OM Acoustic Guitar 2004 – Adirondack Spruce / Honduran Mahogany – Handmade Boutique

This is a hand-built Bruce Sexauer Orchestra Model (OM) acoustic guitar, crafted in 2004 and recently serviced with a fresh setup, new strings, and full maintenance by my guitar tech. It is playing beautifully and ready for its next owner.

Included with the guitar is the original two-page signed letter from Bruce Sexauer, detailing the build, materials, and philosophy behind the instrument.

Build & Tonewoods

Top: Adirondack Spruce

Back & Sides: Quartered Honduras Mahogany (aged ~30 years prior to build)

Neck: Honduran Mahogany

Fingerboard & Bridge: Macassar Ebony

Binding: Brazilian Rosewood

Purfling: Flamed Eastern Maple

Modeled after a 1930 Martin OM, this guitar is incredibly responsive with excellent clarity, projection, and dynamic range.

Luthier Philosophy

Sexauer builds guitars with a focus on tone and performance over cosmetic perfection. As he explains in the included letter:

Fully handmade (no batch production)

Minimal jigging for maximum individuality

Hand-applied oil varnish finish for superior resonance

This results in a guitar that is alive, expressive, and unique, rather than factory-perfect.

Lightly braced top → highly responsive

Warm, woody mahogany character with strong fundamental clarity
