The 4MS QCD Expander is a 12HP Eurorack module designed to expand the capabilities of the 4MS Quad Clock Distributor (QCD). It transforms the QCD into a non-linear sequencer by adding features to each of the QCD's four channels. These features include a multi-mode output jack (INV OUT), a CV-controlled trigger delay or pulse width, and attenuverters for all CV input jacks. Key features of the 4MS QCD Expander:

• Multi-mode Output (INV OUT):Each channel has an additional output jack (INV OUT) that mirrors the tempo of the main QCD output. This output can be switched between three modes:
• • Delayed Trigger Mode: Outputs a trigger delayed from the QCD's main output.
  • Inverted Gate Mode: Outputs a gate signal that turns the main QCD output on and off.
  • Shuffle Mode: Outputs a trigger signal from the QCD main unit and doubles the speed from the INV OUT jack to create a shuffled trigger.
• Trigger Delay/Pulse Width Control:Each channel has a knob and CV input to control the trigger delay time (in Delayed Trigger mode) or pulse width (in Inverted Gate mode).
• Attenuverters:All CV input jacks have attenuverters, allowing for precise control over the amount of modulation from external sources.
• Div/Mult CV Attenuator:A dedicated knob allows you to control how much the Div/Mult CV signal on the main QCD affects the tempo, enabling precise tempo modulation between channels.
• LED Brightness Control:A trimpot on the front panel allows you to adjust the brightness of the module's LEDs. 

Functions added by the Expander:

• Self-patched evolving rhythms: The module allows for creating rhythms by self-patching the INV OUT jack. 
• Swing/shuffle patterns: The Shuffle mode creates swing or shuffle patterns by doubling the tempo and adding a delayed trigger. 
• Control over standard rhythmic patterns: The Expander adds greater control over the standard rhythmic patterns of the QCD.
