This is a proper old school drum machine. It’s not just an instrument, it’s an experience. It harkens back a bygone era, simpler machine for a simpler time. It may look like an answering machine, but it does everything a drum machine should. There’s 13 pads, 26 12-bit sounds, MIDI in out & thru, storage space for 100 patterns & 10 songs, quantization, and stereo panning for a crude form of individual outputs for external processing. If you need a basic drum machine to bang out authentic 80’s beats on, you could do way worse than an RX17!
I’m a pro gear tech. I went over this drum machine thoroughly. I replaced the battery, refreshed the solder joints & keypad contacts, tested every function, cleaned it outside & out. This drum machine works like new and will continue to do so for another handful of decades.
