The 12-string electric guitar has been a mainstay of popular music since the mid-1960s when its unmistakable jangle was embraced by bands such as The Beatles and The Byrds. Gibson’s iconic EDS-1275 has starred on many classic recordings and concert stages the world over, but for those who prefer to play a 12-string electric guitar without a six-string attached to it, Gibson Custom is proud to introduce the 1965 Non-Reverse Firebird V 12-String Reissue. This recreation of the highly collectible model from 1965 remains faithful to the guitar that inspired it, with one key improvement – a full 1 11/16” neck width instead of the narrower neck found on the original. We also returned to the classic 1959 Oldsmobile color chart that has been the source of some of the historic Gibson custom colors for the beautiful Aqua Mist VOS finish. Equipped with a pair of Firebird pickups with Alnico 5 magnets, it delivers all the sparkle and chime you need in a well-balanced, highly playable, vintage-inspired electric 12-string.
