Up for sale is a great-playing, and well-loved 1971 Strat. I would categorize this beauty as player's grade, and with one strum, even with it unplugged, you can tell why this guitar has seemingly been played every day since 1971. It's a resonant, vibey Strat with all the classic sounds in positions 1-5. The guitar has original neck, body, pickups, tuners, etc. (the stuff that matters). The finish is original sunburst with honest checking and playwear throughout.
There are some playability upgrades - I got the guitar refretted with vintage-spec wire, and a new nut was installed in 2024. An older five-way switch is installed, and the middle pickup tone control has been replaced with a late 70s Fender pot and rewired to the bridge pickup, giving you nice rolled-off rock tones on the bridge. The whammy bar is a newer replica, and the case has been repaired. The guitar weighs in at 7.96 lbs.
The guitar is currently set up with 11s, and the neck is straight and action is low. My luthier did let me know when he performed the refret that the truss rod is near the end of its action in terms of set-up, so if you prefer a lot of relief, you may need to take it to a luthier. But it plays great as is! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
