This 1958 Gibson Les Paul Junior is in very good vintage condition. This guitar shows signs of play wear and age throughout, but is overall very vibrant and super vibey. This Junior was professionally refinished by RS Guitarworks years ago - we have blacklit the guitar and don’t see any signs of any cracks, breaks or repairs. The area around the serial number on the back of the peghead is a little funky (see photos), but the serial number is visible and the peghead corners are a little rounded off. Overall, RS did a pretty great job with the finish and the color is very nice. The wiring harness was also replaced by RS Guitarworks with one of their vintage style harnesses, but the dog ear P-90 is original and it’s a firebreather! The neck on this guitar feels absolutely killer and has that signature fat rounded ‘58 profile that is super comfy in the hand and just feels like an old glove. If you like big necks, this guitar will not disappoint. The Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is super clean, free of any divots and has beautiful color and figuring. The fingerboard has been professionally refretted with medium jumbo fret wire that shows virtually no wear and is in terrific condition. The original bridge studs are super straight with no lean and the original nut is present. This guitar has received a pro set up and it plays like a champ up and down the fingerboard with low sweet action and excellent intonation. This is indeed one of the best playing Juniors that we have played in a very long time! The fret work, nut work and overall setup is superb. In our opinion, if you are buying a player grade vintage instrument, then it should be a monster player... and that’s exactly what this thing is! The original tuning machines are in great working order - they hold tune well and turn smoothly. The original pickguard is nice and flat and the original black bonnet knobs are present and are in good shape. The original P-90 in this guitar sounds insanely good - Thick, snarly and full of character. Overdriven, this Junior saturates into glorious harmonic vintage bliss. Seriously, this guitar sounds phenomenal. If you are looking for a vintage Les Paul Junior to play, this is the one.
