Ibanez AD9 Analog Delay Reissue Including Original Box SN0730194
The Ibanez AD9 Analog Delay (Made in Japan) is a compact, bucket-brigade (BBD) delay pedal from the early 1980s “9 Series,” engineered for warm, musically degrading repeats and low-noise performance. Its circuit is centered around a classic MN3205 BBD chip with companion clock driver, paired with compander-based pre/de-emphasis processing to maintain clarity across the delay range. The result is a smooth, organic echo with controlled high-frequency roll-off, characteristic of vintage analog delays.
The control architecture is intentionally minimal—Delay Time, Repeat (feedback), and Delay Level (mix)—allowing precise shaping from short slapback to self-oscillating feedback. A dual-output configuration enables separation of dry and delayed signals for stereo routing or parallel processing. (effectsdatabase.com)
History
The AD9 was introduced in 1982 and manufactured in Japan by Ibanez in collaboration with Maxon, remaining in production until approximately 1984 as part of the original 9 Series lineup. (CRAVE Guitars) It replaced the earlier AD-80, transitioning from higher-voltage designs to a more practical 9V format while retaining high-quality analog circuitry. (Telluride Music Co.). Although the introduction was in 1982, there was a reissue released in beginning 2000's, recognizable by its CE logo on the back.
This specific AD9 is in very good condition for it's age and comes with the original box, plastic and instruction books! The box itself has some wear. Comes without 9V adapter.
