An extremely cool guitar - This Gibson SG Zoot plays and sounds great . Excellent condition with minor play . Only built for approx 3 years these guitar are attracting a cult following due to their uniqueness and "wackiness" .
- Pickups: The guitar was loaded with hot, ceramic-magnet pickups: a 496R in the neck and a 500T in the bridge.
- Bobbins: The pickups featured clear bobbins, allowing the copper wiring to be visible.
- The Body: When the body was carved into the SG shape, these layers were exposed, creating a striped, vibrant, and highly unconventional look.
- Fretboard: An ebony fretboard was used, typically with 24 frets
- Weight/Feel: Due to the dense birch construction, the Zoot Suit is notably heavier than a standard SG, offering a more balanced, solid feel with higher brightness in tone.
- Durability: The laminated neck is often described as "virtually indestructible"
