Up for grabs is this beefy little Cerwin Vega 8" woofer...

Model number is an 81w4.............FOUR OHM woofer

Manufactured April 13 1991!

This was repaired using AMERICAN MADE parts, the foam is the 2 ply red/gray, and I tried to show the code on the rear/inside of the half roll..

The COMPLIANCE is correct. It has the proper "deflection" @ mfg. gm. / MM excursion level. ......

If you use an after market, replacement, E-bay, import, or chyna made POS, you'll loose your box tuning because you changed the free air resonance of the woofer, and altered it's overall compliance, and there goes the Qms and ultimately Qts...You might as well use an incorrect woofer in the box.

Done the correct way, by removing all old surround material, THEN- removing the dust cap, .......shimming and evenly gapping the voice coil,, installing new surround ,installing gasket, remove shims, and install new dust cap.

Operates flawlessly .
