This 1968 Black Diamond Pearl Ludwig kit is superior to all other 60's drums for the simple fact that they have lacquered interiors. There was such a tiny window for these clear interior shells that included the (in my mind) far more preferred Keystone badges that you simply do not see many of these drums show up for sale very often.

The hardware is in excellent condition: zero pitting, shiny appearance, and structurally intact. The bass drum spurs have been upgraded to sturdier 1970s Ludwig spurs (the upgrade is an improvement to the folding spurs as they typically are not only flimsy on a 22" but also end up getting stripped). The finish has zero fade, the seams are intact, and it looks killer. The interiors showcase the beauty of these maple shells, and the reinforcement rings are solid! The only flaw with this kit is the batter side bass drum hoop is missing the inlay.
