3 CAN PLAY IN "A" BUT MOST STAY IN Bb OBVIOUSLY ( set to play in Bb )
4 TUNING SILDE HAS TWO SLIDES AND A LITTLE WHEEL YOU CAN APPERENTLY TURN TO STOP
THE INNER TUNING SLIDE FOR ADJUSTMENT ( I NEVER SAW ONE OF THESE WHEELS ON A TRUMPET PRETTY NEAT )
5 THE COMPRESSION TESTS AND AIR TEST WERE ALL GREAT.
NO SIDE PLAY IN THE VALVES. NO AIR ESCAPING WHEN I HELD DOWN THE VALVE AND I TOOK OFF EACH SLIDE AND BLOW INTO THE LEAD PIPE.
THE ALL AIR TEST WAS GREAT ALSO. ( WHEN YOU TAKE OFF 1ST SLIDE AND HOLD DOWN THE 3 VALVE BUTTONS AND BLOW CLOSING THE CORRESPONDING 1ST VALVE OPENING )( SEE PICS OF VALVES )
VALVE SERIAL NUMBERS MATCH THE TRUMPET SERIAL. CLASS SERIALS ON VALVE STEMS AND INSIDE UPPER CAPS 1!!
7 LOOKS TO HAVE 2 FORMER REPAIRS ON THE INNER BRACES TO THE LEAD PIPE AND ON THE FEET OF WATER PAD KEYS. CLEAN REPAIRS. ( HORN LOOKS STRAIGHT AND LEAD PIPE STRAIGHT SEE PICS. ONE FINGER BUTTON NOT CORRECT BUT PRETTY CLOSE WORKS FINE.
8 IT CAME WITH A CORNET ALL STAR MPC AND A CORNET TO TRUMPET ADAPTOR. FITS FINE. IF YOU NEED A MPC THAT IS A DEDICATED TRUMPET MPC I HAVE SOME MAYBE EVEN A MARTIN ETC.
9 COMES WITH I THINK ORIGINAL MARTIN CASE THE LABEL INSIDE HAS WORN OFF THE LABEL ON OUTSIDE SEEMS BLANK ?. THE MID LATCH SEEMS STUCK AND THE LITTLE BALL MAYBE FREED UP TO SLIDE LEFT TO RIGHT BUT I DID NOT WANT TO FORCE IT ETC. CASE IS CLEAN NO SMELL ON IT OR TRUMPET
10 THERE ARE A FEW SMALL PINGS ON IT AND LOOKS LIKE BACK CROOK HAS HAD DENT REMOVAL BUT OVER ALL NOT BAD. THE WATER PADS ARE NEW. I TOOK ALL VALVEAS APART AND CLEAN ALL ELEMENTS. SEE MY PHOTOS. I SNAKED OUT THE SLIDES AND TRUMPET IS A CLEAN MACHINE. MY TECH LOOKED IT OVER AND MADE SURE IT WAS ALIGNED. VERY FAST ACTION TOO.

Martin Band Instrument Co. Handcraft Dansant Trumpet Elkhart, Indiana 1923 - 1932 "New Martin Trumpet Makes Debut" The June 9th, 1923 edition of The Music Trades had this announcement to make. "Elkhart, Ind., June 4 - The Martin Band Instrument Co. has introduced a new trumpet which is scoring very heavily with musicians and the trade generally. It is known as the Dansant model and is in Bb and A. It has a new bore and taper and the tone is unusually brilliant and flexible.
New York trumpeter Vincent C. Bruno wrote, "I want to record herewith my admiration for the new Martin trumpet, which I have been playing recently. I have performed on it for the last week or two at all the concerts of the Damrosch Orchestra, of which I am a member. The instrument is satisfactory from all standpoints. It is free and easy blowing, well in tune, and of superior tonal quality. I am happy to say that I am so pleased with the instrument that I have adopted it for future use." Vincent Carmine Bruno was born in Italy in 1875 and came to Brooklyn in 1890 as a musician. He was a studio player for Columbia Graphophone, played for the Damrosch Orchestra, and later was a studio teacher. He died in Brooklyn in 1965 after a long career in music.
The past year or two has seen a tremendous advance of the trumpet in importance and popularity. Knowing this, the designers and builders of the new Martin trumpets were inspired to an achievement that will, we predict, remain forever unsurpassed, the new Martin Dansant and Symphony trumpets representing as near perfection in musical and mechanical excellence as is humanly possible to attain." Music Trade Review, November, 1924
